This collection started out as true play. I chose glazes I thought looked nice together and went from there. Initially inspired by mosaic and tile work I’ve seen around the world I found myself really enjoying the human touch of painting each individual dot in these pleasing ovals. That first piece that came out of the kiln immediately reminded me of ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister but everyone sees something different; I’ve heard people call them finger prints, nail polish- whatever you see the results are a pleasing-to-hold, tactile piece, I feel, is timeless.
